Motorcycle Accident In The Borough

Just before 18:00 the Rescue and Engine were alerted for a motorcycle accident on Church Street cross of High street in the Borough. Chief 59 arrived on scene and advised he had a single motorcycle blocking the roadway and a single patient class 1. The Rescue along with Medic 102-4 went responding shortly after dispatch and arrived and began patient care. The crew from the Engine arrived and assisted with controlling the leaking fluids from the motorcycle. After the patient was transported Smith Brothers removed the Motorcycle from the roadway and the box was placed available.

 
   
   
Oven Fire In The First Due

At 0722 the Engine along with units from Shrewsbury, New Freedom and Loganville were alerted for an oven fire on Dawn Lane cross of Glenvue Road. Chief 59 went on scene with smoke showing and advised of a working fire, the Engine with a crew of 5 arrived shortly after and advanced the bumper line to the kitchen and knocked the fire. The Engine out of Loganville was advised to standy by in our station while the crew from Shrewsbury assisted with venting the smoke out of the structure. Truck 58 arrived and was advised to stage on Glenvue shortly after command released everyone with the exception of the our Engine. The crew from the Engine assisted with cleanup and removing the water and broken glass from the kitchen area and at 0822 returned available.


 
   
   
Vehicle Accident With Multiple Injuries

Last evening the Rescue and Engine were alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Pleasant Valley and Fissels Church Road. Chief 59 went on scene and advised negative on the entrapment but also advised it was a single vehicle accident with a total of seven occupants. The Rescue and Engine arrived and began to asses the injured it was determined that every occupant had some degree of injury and all were going to be transported. With a total of five BLS units and one Medic all occupants were transported to the local hospital with varying degrees of injuries from class 1 down to class 3. After the last patient was transported the Rescue and Engine were released and returned in service.

 
   
   
Vehicle Accident w/ Injuries

At 10:46 the engine and rescue were alerted for a vehicle accident with injuries on Clearview Road cross of Bohr Court. The rescue went in route shortly after with a crew of 6, while in route Chief 59-1 went on scene and advised of a two vehicle accident blocking and fluids leaking. Upon arrival the crew secured both vehicles and controlled the hazards while doing patient care as well. One patient was transported class 3, Smith Brothers Towing removed the vehicles and the rescue returned available.

 
   
   
Engine Runs Minor Vehicle accident

At 0152 the engine was alerted for a minor vehicle accident with debris removal in the 61-12 box. The engine went in route and was advised by Chief 61 (Myers) that the location was going to be on White Oak Road Extended cross of Brillhart. Upon arrival the crew assisted in lighting up the scene and checked for fluids, after it was determined there were no fluids to be cleaned up Chief 61 released the engine and the crew returned to service.

 
   
   
Another Reported Vehicle Fire
Monday, August 16, 2010

At 1048 the engine and tanker were alerted for a vehicle fire at 4216 Johnson Road cross of Myers. Engine 59-1 quickly went in route with the tanker close behind, upon arrival it was discovered a small fire due to a ruptured fuel line had broke out and self extinguished. The crew from the engine assisted in removal of the old fuel line and secured the line so fuel would stop leaking. Crews returned in service a short time later.

 
   
   
Working Vehicle Fire

At 0042 the engine was alerted for a vehicle fire on Argyle Ave cross of Valley St. Chief 59 went on scene and advised he had a working fire in the engine compartment of car. Engine 59-1 arrived with a crew of 5 and quickly knocked the fire, after a short investigation it was determined the fire was accidental due to electricial problems with the car. The engine packed up its hose and returned to service at 0130.


 
House Struck by Lightening

At 0725 Engine 59-1 was alerted along with units from Shrewsbury, Loganville and New Freedom for smoke coming from a house struck by lightening in the 61-11 box. Engine 59-1 quickly went in route with a full crew while in route Chief 61 arrived on scene and advised there was no smoke showing and he would be out investigating. Engine 59-1 arrived first and was advised by Chief 61 to send 2 personel along with the TIC into the structure to check for heat and smoke. It was determinded that a lamp shade had burnt up with no extension to any party of the structure. The crew from the engine packed up and returned to service at 0742.


 
   
   
Multiple Calls with Pin Job on Jefferson Rd

At 15:02 Rescue 59 was upgraded to the 47-7 box for a single vehicle into a tree with one occupant trapped. With in seconds the Rescue went out with 5, while in route they were advised to pull up in front of Rescue 4 and assist with extrication and patient care. With Rescue 4 already being scene the crew from Glen Rock used Rescue 4's tools to remove the door to help gain access. Shortly after the patient was removed threw the rear of the vehicle. Ambulance 4 took over patient care and the crew from Glen Rock packed up and returned. While returning they were then dispatched for wires on fire on Pleasant Valley Road in the area of Fissels Church Road. With the Brush truck out on a tree down units cleared the roadway and headed towards the wires on fire. The Brush arrived and advised they had a tree down across wires with active fire. The Rescue arrived and it was determined they were not needed so they returned back in service.

 
   
   
Engine and Tanker Run Hay Wagon on Fire

Today at 12:53 the Tanker was alerted to assist Jefferson with a hay wagon on fire loaded with straw. Engine 47-1 arrived and advised they had 2 hay wagons fully loaded on fire and requested an additional 2 Tankers and an Engine. Engine 59-1 went in route with 4 and upon arrival they left there crew at the scene and went to establish a water supply site. Crews worked just under 2 hours to place the fire out, and check for hot spots in the straw. At 14:33 the Tanker and Engine was placed available and returend back to the station.
