After many month's the 2000 Pierce Heavy Rescue is finally home . Member's made the trip to Oceanside New York on Saturday morning to take purchase of the rescue .  This vehicle will replace the 1989 E-One that is currently in service in the department.

This unit is equipped with a 25 KW PTO Generator , 25 Ft. Wil-Burt  Light Tower,  60 Series Detroit 450 HP Engine. Allison 5 Speed Automatic  Transmission. Seating for 8 . Rescue has a full assortment of rescue equipment on board. This Heavy Rescue can perform any task from rope rescue to vehicle extrication.  The New Rescue 59 went into service Thursday evening  unit will still need to be lettered but it will stay in service  during that process . Larry Spangler from Spangler Signs will be doing the lettering in house .
